Seeing as a lot of us have most empathy with home growns like Rice, Noble, Johnson, I wouldn't accept it with great pleasure.

unfortunately its the way the country is run that leads to reliance on foreign imports owned by foreigners who dont care about our country just the pound, our youngsters are being tossed away, country is fucked...

Does anyone remember when Ron Greenwood brought Mordechai Spiegler back from the 1970 World Cup?
He looked a tremendous player, though that may not have made him effective in the Division One of the early seventies, but wasn't allowed to play in the Football League if I remember correctly.
Sir Ron really was ahead of his time.

It wouldn't bother me too much if they were all decent.
Although I do feel that West Ham have a reputation as a club that fields good English players. And, I do like that reputation.
So, whilst I would prefer it if we kept a core of good English players, if the foreign players were doing the biz then I could live with it.

Think West Ham were the last team to win an FA Cup Final with 11 Englishmen in 75. After that the word "foreign" only seemed to apply to Scots, Welsh and Irish. Think it was Mühren and Thijssen that really started it all off at Ipswich. It's incredible how far the Scots have fallen really when you think Alan Hansen didn't even get in a World Cup Squad back then.

I always like to see a few English players in the team. I wouldn't be happy if there weren't any. I know some people don't mind, it's just the way I feel. Obviously I'd rather have 11 good foreign players than 11 shit English ones, but it should always be possible to have some decent Brits.

Don't give a shit as long as they were good. An all English 11 would be 11 Mark Nobles playing hoofball, sooner cut leg off than go back to that

I really think this is irrelevant these days.
If we are 5-0 up on Sunday with no British players,i wont be wishing for a different set of players just fir the sake of having a couple of 'our own'.
Its all a long way off from when we were the last team to win the FA cup with 11 English players.

Didn’t this happen before at the LS, possibly in a League Cup match? I remember stating to the Mrs that we didn’t have any English or British players on the pitch.

I'd like a league where you could only play British players + maybe 3 non British. I'm sure there used to be a rule like that back in the day.

Would I prefer the eleven worst Englishmen (by position) to play for West Ham to the eleven best non-Englishmen?
No.
BTW, who would be in those teams?

Be a bit sad but end of the day that’s the modern game in the PL, its International.
We may have a few more English players than some other clubs but with the PL as the best and richest league in the world attracting the worlds best players its always going to happen, the big loser is English (International) football IMO, they may have “home grown” quotas etc but as we saw with Rob Green joining Chelsea a couple of years ago, it means fuck all really, needs to apply to starting line ups, but then the quality of football would slip down, hopefully in the short term only but im not sure we produce enough talent if say each team had to put out at least 4 or 5 English(British) players, would also detract from the PL having to field a certain amount of players from the home nations, then teams may struggle if English players got injured, play a shit one just to keep the quota but have some top draw fully fit foreigner sat on the bench

Mad Dog Didn't chelsea first do this 19 years ago
Reminds me when Chelscum were playing in the FA CUP final in 96 and their sponsor, Lurpack, placed an ad in the newspaper from which a "foreign phase" was listed for all of the Chelsea's players and Manager....at the bottom of the ad was....
"Oh and Good luck to Dennis Wise and Scott Minto"
